Here is a cool recipe that puts a healthy twist on an old classic. Meatza’s are a variation of pizza where the crust is made from ground meat of your choice. In this recipe I used ground beef.
ground meat (about a 1lb or so depends on the size of your oven pan)
gluten free marinara sauce
2-3 bell peppers (assorted colors)
1 onion (type of your choice. I used white)
4-5 medium size mushrooms
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place ground meat onto cooking pan and flatten it out by hand until the whole pan is covered. Bake in an oven for 20-25 min. While the meat crust is in the oven steam your vegetables for 8-10 min or until cooked to your preference. When meat crust is done drain all the grease of the pan and let cool for a few min. Then add marinara sauce to cover the crust. Then dress the top with all your veggies to your preference. I like to sprinkle around a little more marinara on top after that. Once the meatza is dressed to your liking then put it back in the oven on broil for 5-10 min. Once done let the meatza cool for 5 min or so and then slice up your avocado and place on top of everything else. Boom! You are done! Meatza’s are a great family meal or can also be cut up and wrapped in foil and frozen to save for later. I will take a slice or two for lunch and I just heat them in the microwave for about 90-120 sec.
